Marinetek has launched an extensive efficiency enhancement and development programme aiming to strengthen its competitiveness, particularly in the Northern European market and for international marina projects. In an initial move, concrete float production will be transferred to Marinetek’s larger production units in Latvia and Sweden. Marinetek’s local site operations in Finland will focus solely on the assembly and delivery of pontoons.

The company’s head office will remain in Finland and will house engineering, R&D, sales and technical support departments. Customer operations will be enhanced by cross-country resources within Northern Europe.



Jari-Jukka Hämäläinen (born 1954), an M.Sc. (Civil Engineering) from the Helsinki Technical High School and MBA, University of Wales, has been appointed as the new acting CEO for Marinetek Group from 3 January 2017. He follows Jukka Saarikko who resigned last spring. Ilkka Seppälä was acting as a temporary CEO during the interim period.


Prior to joining Marinetek, Hämäläinen worked for 20 years in top management positions in the construction and contracting industries. He also has extensive and comprehensive experience in domestic and international construction project management.

The Marinetek Board of Directors has also been strengthened with the appointment, as of 15.12.2016, of Matti Jaakola (born 1955) as the new Chairman.
