Pontoons Having Busy Week On The High Seas

Although well used to despatching a steady number of pontoons from its various international manufacturing sites on a regular basis, Marinetek has been exceptionally busy this week shipping pontoons around the world.

Ana Marina in Nha Trang, the first ever marina in Vietnam, received 77 pontoons direct from the pre-casting yard in Johor Bahru in Malaysia. This represented one of Marinetek’s largest single pontoon shipments to date and comprised a mix of seven different pontoon types including Super Yacht pontoons for a fuel dock and a breakwater.

Marinetek’s Latvian facility played its part by shipping out a total of 49 Premier pontoons and fingers, including Super Yacht fingers, for a 90-berth extension at Camper & Nicholsons’ Port Louis Marina on the Caribbean island of Grenada. Marinetek built the original 160-berth marina in 2009/10.

A record was also recently set in the Middle East where an amazing number of 290 large Marinetek Super Yacht and Premier pontoons, ordered for a regional mega-project and measuring up to 5m x 20m, were cast in just six months!

“The first half of 2019 has been extraordinarily busy on the project delivery side and underlines our ability not only to work on demanding projects simultaneously but also deliver to schedule making best use of our extensive network of industry professionals,” says Marinetek CEO Mika Parviainen. “Our factories are now rapidly filling up the free storage space as we progress other contracts,” Parviainen noted.
