The landmark Port Louis Marina in Grenada will undergo an important expansion next year when Marinetek installs a new two-pier system to add an extra 90 berths. Marinetek is working closely with the design team at Camper & Nicholsons Marinas (C&N Marinas), owner and operator of Port Louis Marina, to specifically tailor the new pontoons.

Port Louis is a ‘safe harbour’ in the Caribbean archipelago set in a natural lagoon on the leeward side of the island, below the hurricane belt. Its 160-berth marina system was built and installed by Marinetek in 2009/10. Work on the new phase is due to start in the spring of next year and will complete towards the end of the summer. To offer maximum security, despite the sheltered nature of the site, the entire Marinetek system is designed to meet Hurricane Category II criteria.

Marinetek has considerable experience in delivering projects to the Caribbean and is excited to be further enhancing facilities at Port Louis Marina. “We have enjoyed a long customer relationship with Camper & Nicholsons Marinas,” says Marinetek Vice President Ville Leisti. “It’s great to work with customers who, as marina owners, operators and designers, are true experts in the field. They understand the importance of professional solutions from trustworthy suppliers.”

Dan Hughes, Chief Operating Officer at C&N Marinas confirms that expansion of Port Louis Marina is necessary as business continues to grow. “The choice to place an order with Marinetek in November 2018 for the additional 90 berths was an easy one to make,” he asserts. “Their professionalism, expertise and willingness to work to a tight timetable gives us continued confidence in the Marinetek team and their products, and we look forward to continuing to work with them on other projects around the world.”

Marinetek has enjoyed outstanding success in 2018, especially with regard to its returns. Customer returns. “We’ve completed significant projects, won prestigious contracts and further cemented the strength of the Marinetek brand in many parts of the world but, if we reflect on the past year, I believe one of our greatest achievements lies in the level of return customers we’ve had,” says Marinetek President and CEO Mika Parviainen. “When clients like Camper & Nicholsons Marinas return and ask us to undertake additional projects, we know that they trust us to do a good job.”

Loyal customers who also placed repeat orders this year include Ports de Monaco, ACI Marinas in Croatia, the Cities of Helsinki and Espoo in Finland, and Marina Olpenitz in Germany. We will soon be announcing the completion of a multi-marina deliver to a Dubai-based client. “It’s a privilege to work with these clients and we are grateful for their continued support,” Parviainen adds. “They are core to the success of the Marinetek Group and, of course, their recommendations to others are invaluable to us.”

In 2019, Marinetek will continue to work for customers old and new and looks forward to the challenges the New Year will bring.

Seasons greetings to you all for the holiday time.

And all good wishes for a happy and successful year ahead.
