Sanden is a large public marina in Vänersborg, located at the southwest tip of Lake Vänern, the largest lake in Sweden. The new long Marinetek pier at Sanden replaced an over 35-year-old pier. An important part of the project was dismantling and transporting the old structure away with great care to make sure it didn’t have any harmful effects to the environment. The old pier was carefully taken ashore and transported to be disposed of properly.

The new pier is 167 meters long and has 80 berths. Most berths are equipped with boat booms, but on the outside of the pier, part of the berths for short term quests feature Mediterranean Mooring Systems which are new to the region. The Med-Mooring adds flexibility and allows larger boats to moor at the dock.
